Dr. Sandra Scott
Dr. Sandra Scott, MD, was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of One Brooklyn Health in January 2024. She is a highly regarded physician, educator, and leader, with a medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Dr. Scott completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Boston Medical Center and went on to serve as Chief of Service for Emergency Medicine at Rutger’s New Jersey Medical School and Chair of Emergency Medicine at Lincoln Medical Center in the South Bronx. Her extensive background in healthcare leadership gives her a unique perspective in improving health services for the diverse communities of East and Central Brooklyn.
Before her appointment as Interim CEO, Dr. Scott served as Executive Director of Brookdale Hospital Center and Chair of Emergency Medicine for One Brooklyn Health. She played a pivotal role in guiding the hospital’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, leading efforts to train medical staff and address operational readiness. Known for her commitment to health equity, she has been a strong advocate for Black maternal health and worked alongside U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer to promote the Maternal Health Momnibus Act. As the first woman, physician, and person of color to lead Brookdale in its 100-year history, Dr. Scott is dedicated to expanding access to quality healthcare, fostering talent, and improving patient outcomes across the One Brooklyn Health network
