Veronica Torres
Veronica Torres serves as the Project Director of the Health Equity Unit, where she leads efforts to promote access to care and address social determinants of health across New York City. She oversees the development, coordination, and evaluation of the Health Equity Unit’s programs, including the Connect2Care program. With a double major in Global Public Health and Sociology from New York University, Ms. Torres gained valuable insights into sociocultural factors that foster healthy communities, studying abroad in three countries. In 2023, she earned a certification in Strategy Execution from Harvard Business School, further enhancing her leadership abilities.
Throughout her career, Ms. Torres has developed extensive experience in research and program management. As a Program Manager at VNS Health in 2021, she received an Impact Award for her efforts in increasing access to home health services. She has also received three grants from NYU for her research on child migrant health and COVID-19, and published work in collaboration with the Instituto de Efectividad Clínica y Sanitaria in Buenos Aires. Her diverse roles have honed her ability to engage at-risk communities, conduct impactful research, and contribute to public health initiatives with commitment and analytical expertise.
