On October 1, 2020, CABS’ Circle of Care Awards was a complete online experience to celebrate 41 years in the healthcare industry and the International Day of Older Persons.
Every year the United Nations (UN) gives a theme to the International Day of Older Persons. 2020’s theme was “Pandemics: Do They Change How We Address Age and Ageing?”, highlighting the nurses and women workforce who have aided the senior population during the COVID-19 global pandemic. To correlate with the UN’s theme, the CABS’ 2020 Circle of Care Awards theme was “Celebrating a Decade of Healthy Ageing.” In recognition of the theme and CABS 41st anniversary, we launched our second annual Circle of Care Awards. The Circle of Care Award is an honor granted to those who have provided exemplary services for the community.
During the event, we presented awards to NYCHA, PPEforNYC, CABS’ aides that turned into clients, eldest aides, our first posthumous award to our Director of Patient Services, CABS’ Nursing Department, and a case coordinator who has been with the organization for more than 20 years.
We enjoyed several community resources such as the Alzheimer’s Foundation, Healthfirst, and God’s Love We Deliver. Our local politicians, Senator Roxanne Persaud, Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, Assemblywoman Latrice Walker, and the Former Brooklyn Borough President, Eric Adams, received words of empowerment and wisdom.
Our #CircleofCare continues throughout the year; follow our journey on social media at @cabshomecare
The digital Gala journal will be presented on the evening of the virtual Gala and remain on the dedicated CABS webpage for one year. All journal ads and artwork must be received by Sep 23rd, 2021
